Give a task to an agent. Keep working while it runs.
Cana agents work in chat or in Workbench for hands-on work in your project. Bots can keep working on a schedule or supported trigger. Give an agent the instructions, tools and permissions it needs, then follow the result in chat or on a Walkie-Talkie channel.
Workbench chats
Let an agent work hands-on in your project with local files and tools.
Bots
Run a chat always-on, on a schedule, or when an app event, webhook or check wakes it.
Shared knowledge
Skills and saved knowledge give agents reusable instructions and context when they are available to the session.
Live coordination
Follow agents and send them instructions through Walkie-Talkie channels.
Agents
Work that carries on
Workbench lets a Cana agent work hands-on in your project. A Bot can run on a schedule or supported trigger, then report the result in its chat.
- Always-on or scheduled Bots
- Connected-app events and webhook triggers
- Run history in the Bot chat
- Pause, resume, run now or delete
Agents
Agents with context
Add skills, knowledge and connected tools before an agent starts. On a Walkie-Talkie channel, several agents can update one another and ask you for approval.
- Skills and knowledge
- Connected apps and MCP servers
- Walkie-Talkie hand-offs
- Permission levels you choose

Good questions.
What's the difference between an agent and a SIA?
An agent works on a task. A SIA is a governed team of agents with domain knowledge and memory that owns a whole outcome for a function.
Do I need to leave my computer on?
Bots can continue independently. Workbench runs hands-on work in your project on the computer where it is running.
How do I get started with Agents?
Start a Cana chat, then open Agents from the Platform area when it fits the work you need to do.
How do I control what an agent can do?
Choose the permission level that fits the task: Ask, Accept Edits, Research and Plan, or Bypass All.
Can I connect tools to this work?
Cana can use connected apps and remote MCP servers when you have connected and allowed those tools.
